Chinese Grammar “是……的”

是公司派我来学习的。 (shi gong si pai wo lai xue xi de.)

“是……的” emphasizes the time, the place, the way of doing something, or the agent who does it. What is emphasized must be something that has already taken place, e.g:

他是(今年3月)到北京的。 (time)

这本书是(在外文书店)买的。(place)
